  • Description

  • Notes

Large deciduous shrub or small tree grows to 8' x 6'. Showy orange to red flowers appear in the spring. Flowers attract hummingbirds. The red fruit appears in late summer and ripens in the fall. Fruit is edible. Dark green leaves turn yellow in fall. Accepts full fun to part shade. Native to southern Asia and the Mediterranean.
Frost tolerant to 10 F. Look for selections that offer a variety of flower colors, fruit characteristics, and plant sizes.
