Perennial shrub grows to 3' x 4'. Lush green leaves make a great back drop for tubular scarlet-red flowers. Soil tolerant including clay soils. Attracts hummingbirds. Can be an annual in cold climates. Will reseed readily. Can become very weedy and rangy, requires regular pruning. Native to Texas and Mexico.
