Deciduous tree that grows at a moderate rate to 30' x 20'. Has an irregular form. Cream puffball flowers appear in spring. Has small thorns. Seasonal leaf and flower litter. Good for naturalistic landscapes. Needs loose well drained soil. Native to Sonora.
Frost tolerant to 15 F. Larger, faster, and less dense than Pithecellobium flexicaule. Recently reclassified as Havardia mexicana.
