  • Description

  • Notes

Semievergreen twining vine grows at a moderate rate to 15' x 15'. Medium green leaves. Yellow clusters of orchidlike flowers appear late spring to early summer. Flowers are followed by large chartreuse paperlike pods. Easily trained to a trellis or fence. Best in well drained site. Accepts full sun. Native to Mexico.
Frost tolerant to 22 F. Recentely reclassified as Callaeum macropterum. Also try Mascagnia lilacina for purple flowers.
