Deciduous shrub with dark green foliage. White 5 petaled flowers stand out against foliage. Unusual in that it will bloom in partial shade. The stems are woody at the base, herbaceous above. Some supplemental water needed to keep the plant looking its best. Native to washes and canyons from 2,500' to 4,000' across Baja California, southern Arizona, and southwest Texas.
Frost tolerant to 20 F. Scandens = Climbing
