Evergreen columnar cactus grows slowly to 10' x 10'. Stems are light green and are covered in gray spines. Flowers are pink and appear late spring to summer. Flowers bloom at night on "furry" top regions of stems. Accepts reflected sun. Native to the Sonoran Desert.
Frost tolerant to 18 F. Recently reclassified as Pachycereus schottii.
