  • Description

  • Notes

Bunchgrass that grows quickly to 2' x 1-1/2'. Extremely cold hardy. Accepts full sun. Flower spikes appear in summer and last through fall. Tall flower spikes start out green and dry to tan. After flowering, seeds appear on one side of spike. Seeds are relished by birds. Blue green leaves, dry to tan in the fall. Prune early spring for clean regrowth.
Frost tolerant to 0 F. Try Aristida purpurea, especially for naturalistic landscapes.
